Student Council

Adviser: Mr. Brian Curtin

Student Council meetings are held once a month after school.  Meetings will be the first Wednesday of every month and begin at 2:15 and end at 2:45 pm.   Students will be dismissed from the flagpole doors.  We will have executive board meetings and special event meetings throughout the year.  These may occur after school or during lunch.  Prior notice will be made so that students can make arrangements to attend the meeting. These are the general student council meetings, officers are expected to come to each meeting with an agenda.

The primary mission of the Student Council is service - service to our school, St. John's Academy, and to our community.

Each year the Student Council chooses 3 special charities we will support financially. We hold bake sales, dances, and movie nights to help promote a sense of community within our school and to raise funds for these great causes.

We also make an annual donation back to the school to help our own community. For the 2018-2019 school year, we donated to the SJA Tuition Assistance Fund.

Charities are chosen based on the interests and concerns of the current year's student council representatives.

Each grade is included in at least one special event per school year. Special events may be class movie nights, dances, and special assemblies.

2019-2020 Events will be announced soon!

From October thru May the student council holds a bake sale during lunch.
Grades 4-8 take turns providing and selling the goods.  All items are 50¢.

All proceeds from the bake sales are used by the Student Council to fund our events and or special charities that we choose each year.
