Classroom and Grading Policies

Grading Policy for Grades 7-8:

·        20% of Marking Period Grade is made up quizzes.

o   There is a quiz given every week

o   Graded homework assignments count as quiz grades

  •         20% of Marking Period Grade is made up of Homework

o   Homework is assigned every day

o   No late homework accepted unless for an excused absence

o   Homework pass is good for 3 assignments

§  Students may use HW pass at will, this gives them credit for HW without having to do the assignment

§  HW pass may not be used on graded assignments or projects

·        20% of Marking Period Grade is made up of class work and participation

o    Deductions are given for:

·        Not being prepared (i.e. missing book, notebook, workbook, pen, etc)

·        Not following directions

·        Disruptive behavior

·        Not completing class work

·        40% of Marking Period Grade is made up of assessments

o   Chapter Tests are given about 1x a month

o   Oral Presentations and Written Assignments are also given 1-2 a trimester

o   Deductions are made for late work

 

Grading Policy for Grade 6:

·        40% of Marking Period Grade is made up Assessments.

o   Quizzes are shorter tests

o   Tests and Quizzes have equal weight

o   Graded homework assignments count as quiz grades

o    Oral Presentations and Written Assignments are also given 1-2 a trimester

·       30% of Marking Period Grade is made up of Homework

o   Homework is checked every day it is assigned

o   No late homework accepted unless for an excused absence

·        30% of Marking Period Grade is made up of class work and participation

§  Deductions are given for:

·        Not being prepared (i.e. missing book, notebook, workbook, pen, etc)

·        Not following directions

·        Disruptive behavior

·        Not completing class work

 


Fire Drills:

a.      Quickly and Quietly exit through back door, go to large stairs and exit through flagpole doors.

b.     Turn right and continue towards SJB Parish Center

c.      Go to designated spot and wait with your classmates and teacher

Lock Down Drills:

a.      Quickly and Quietly go to the far wall (away from windows) and sit on the floor.

b.     Stay between the doors and remain seated quietly until the all clear signal is given.
