Need a book you can not find in the school library?  Try BCCL'S, our public library online catalog.  You will need your public library card to borrow a book here.  If you do not have a library card, please see Mrs. Fagnan.  

Databases 

 

Our library provides many different databases you can use to help with your research projects.  You will need a username and password to enter these sites.  Please see Mrs. Fagnan if you do not have this information.

 

 

Factcite by Lincoln Library.  We subscribe to four databases within Lincoln Library:  American History, Biographies, Science and Essential Information.  Great resource for grades 3 and up. PebbleGo is a great Database for those students in grades PK -3.  We subscribe to four databases in this database.  Not only can you read about animals, earth and space, biographies and social studies, you can listen to the articles.  Many of the articles also have videos and printouts.  See Mrs. Fagnan for the username and password.

Facts4Me:  A great starting point for any research project.  This database is only open till 5pm.  It is well worth investigation the fantastic information found here.  Great for grades 3 and up.  See Mrs. Fagnan for a username and password to enter.  BrainPop:  A great database that provides both videos and articles about many topics in science, social studies, english, math, engineering & tech, health and art and music.  Great for students in grades 3 and up. See Mrs. Fagnan for the username and password.  BrainPop Jr.  Just as good as our BrainPop but specially developed for those students in grades 2 and under.

 

Need help citing sources?  EasyBib is Mrs. Fagnan's perfered online bibliography generator.  Please remember St. John's requires all research to be cited in MLA format. Need help, please see Mrs. Starvaggi.

History/Social Studies

American Memory:  Motion Pictures:  A collection of audio, video and photos that document the history of the United States.

C-Span's American Presidents Life Portraits:  Informative facts about the lives of the Presidents of the United States.  It includes reference materials and multimidea resources.

Science

National Archives Video Sections:  Videos from NASA, on earth-space science.
