World Language

Students should not only have mastery in the English language but another language as well. Therefore, at Saint John's Academy world language instruction in Spanish is an important part of our curriculum. Students receive World Language/Spanish instruction in grades k-8.
The teaching and learning of the language program is rooted in the following:
Social Teachings of the Catholic Church, the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning, the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards, and the New Jersey World Language Curriculum Framework.

With these standards, SJA world language study has evolved. The teaching and learning that occurs not only includes traditional language acquisition, but it encompasses a fuller more comprehensive, anthropological study of culture as well.
