Curriculum

SJA offers two programs in our Early Childhood Learning Program. We offer a prek-3 program with flexible scheduling: half day, school day or extended day options as well as the ability to also choose 2-5 days a week for your child's attendance. We cater to today's busy families and lifestyles who need and assist on a safe, active and educational experience for their child. We pride ourselves on COMMUNITY. Families feel a "connection" to our school- it feels like a second home for our students.

SJA's Early Childhood Program incorporates a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the varied levels of readiness which are present in our early learners. The SJA Early Childhood Program is in full compliance with the curriculum mapping program instituted by the Archdiocese of Newark, as well as the Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards by the State of New Jersey. Our philosophy promotes the development of the "whole child" by meeting the social, emotional, and academic needs of each student

Students participate in a broad-based curriculum as outlined below:

  • religion
  • social emotional development
  • emergent language arts
  • mathematical skills
  • scientific proficiency
  • social studies
  • art
  • music
  • health, safety, and physical education
  • technology

This age is a unique, wonderful time for both the child and parents.

Students enrolled in our early childhood program are able to participate in our extended aftercare program. For information about "Extended After Care", click here.
